At Accessible Accounting CPA, our team is committed to delivering the quality service that you deserve. We work one on one with clients to provide the following services : annual tax returns, insurance audits, Secretary of State filings, quarterly tax payments, full service payroll, employment returns, sales and use tax returns, monthly reconciliations – for individuals and businesses.
Kelly is the founder and owner of Accessible Accounting Inc. She is a 1993 graduate of Lake Central High School, and also attended St. Michael’s School in Schererville. She graduated Indiana University in Bloomington in 1996 and received her CPA License in 2007. Since 1996, she has worked hands on, in the accounting support of several different industries including : construction, personal care, logistics, medical, etc.
Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, volunteering and staying active by raising her young daughter.
Janet is our in house Accounting Specialist and troubleshooter, located in our Hobart office. She is our front line with businesses and performs a detailed analysis, which is then moved to Kelly’s plate.

The IRS has told us a variety of reasons: coronavirus, shutdowns, incorrect stimulus amount reported, employee status at the IRS, etc.
Basically, the sooner you file, the sooner you will get your refund. Paper files are processed slower.
Generally, we process returns within 5 days or less. As the tax season progresses towards the filing deadline, processing time may vary. Processing time greatly depends upon all required information being submitted. Don’t worry, we’ll help you understand what we need to prepare a complete and accurate return!
Yes, you should never wait to pay the IRS or state, but you can pay us later; know that we can not transmit your eFile until payment has been received.
Here are the various ways to get your paperwork to us. Each location has a 24-hour mail slot to securely drop off your paperwork. Our Hobart address is 824 E 3rd St & our St John address is 8671 Wicker Ave (next door to St. John Animal Clinic.) You can also mail or fax us. Our fax number is (219) 940-9902. Or, for your convenience, we have added a secure portal through our website. Please follow the “Portal Login” button above . If you have any questions for Kelly, she will contact you after we’ve received and reviewed your paperwork.
During this tax season, we have two locations to better serve you!

You may have received several payments from the IRS last year. We strongly recommend that you click Your Online Account | Internal Revenue Service (irs.gov) to set up an IRS Account to expedite your process. This will be needed for BOTH husband & wife. This is the most accurate way to know what the IRS has on file for you. Please provide a copy to us at the time of drop-off. If incorrect information is given, your return may be delayed for a minimum of 6 months.
To prepare an accurate return, please send us:
Your normal tax documents including, but are not limited to, proof of your Stimulus Payment, any Advance Child Tax Credit (Letter 6419), and any other new events in your life, such as the birth of a child, marriage, divorce, death of a spouse.
A copy of your (and your spouse’s) driver’s license may be required if we do not have an updated copy on file. Other documents may be required once we have received & reviewed your paperwork.
If you are a new Client, please provide us with a copy of last year’s return. Along with the Date of Birth & Social Security Number of you and your spouse & any dependents.

To prepare an accurate return, we’ll need all the tax documents that you would normally receive in the mail. So that we can get started, please also include :
- Copy of your (and spouse’s) driver’s license
- Copy of your last year’s return
- Date of Birth and Social Security number of any dependants
- How much did you receive for the 3rd stimulus? (or include Notice 1444C)
- Did you receive any Advance Child Tax Credit (or Letter 6419)

The tax laws have changed so much recently and we expect more to come down the pipeline! From W2 employees to Business owners: We ALWAYS look at your current tax situation and offer suggestions that will help your tax plan for the future.
For all businesses, we require your bank statements or your own accounting documents, such as Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Receipts, etc., If you are a new Client, your last year’s tax return is required. Other items may be required once we receive and review your documents. As a reminder, most business returns are due by March 15th, or an extension may be available.
During these unprecedented times, there may be many reasons that you’d like to file an extension. There is never an extension to pay your taxes. There is only an extension to file your return. We would be happy to file an extension of you, but we will require your basic information.

Yes, you can file an extension to FILE, however there is never an extension to pay. All taxes are due on the tax due date.
